The Role

As a Software Developer, you will be responsible for developing aspects of our Multilex Software solution. Multilex is the UK’s leading drug database and e-prescribing decision support solution and is used by healthcare professionals across the country.

You’ll be delivering high quality, innovative solutions, working openly and collaboratively with a diverse range of technical and subject matter experts.

We work with Agile methodologies for our software solutions and you’ll be collaborating with the Product Owner to understand customer requirements and implementation processes.

Specifically, your role will also involve:

- Performing critical assessments
- Analysing, scoping and defining specifications
- Creating exceptional code
- Reviewing code across the team
- Using established design patterns and best practices
- Learning and researching solutions and sharing your findings

About You

To be considered as a Software Developer, you will need experience of the following:

- Analysis and design
- C#
- MVC
- .NET framework
- SOLID principles
- TSQL
- Test Automation
- TDD
- Refactoring
- Unit Testing, mocking
- JavaScript frameworks such as React
- Using ORM e.g. Entity Framework
- Agile & Scrum development methodologies

You will also need:

- Good communication skills both verbal and written, both external and internal
- Evidence of new subjects or skills learnt

The Role

As a Senior Software Developer, you will be responsible for successfully improving a range of methodologies that are focused on the design, development and acceptance of software solutions.

Working collaboratively with the Product Owner, you will consider the customer requirements and gain an understanding of implementation to inform solution scoping.

You will research solutions and share findings with others, making suggestions for improvements, evidencing when challenged. As well as this, you will actively acknowledge any emerging trends and recommend the adoption and use of design patterns and best practices.

Additionally, you will perform critical assessments, challenge assumptions and identify the most appropriate acceptance criteria that mitigate potential risk.

About You

Our ideal candidate will be:

The Role
As a Database Developer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining our Multilex Software solution for both internal and external deployments.

Reporting to the Technical Lead, you will design, develop and test database applications for our range of business systems. You will perform structured testing which will include design reviews, code walkthroughs and inspections.

You will liaise with both internal and external customers and make note of their requirements in the form of user stories and supporting analysis. You will also undertake maintenance and 'business as usual' activities including the electronic preparation and publication of content, database administration and the resolution of data errors.

Additionally, you will:

- Work closely and collaboratively with the Multilex team at all times
- Participate in agile development and actively contribute to the continuous improvement of our processes
- Provide resource estimates and progress updates
- Improve the solution and proactively suggest innovative, effort-saving solutions to business problems

About You
To join us as a Database Developer, you will need:
- Evidence of high-level participation in database-oriented commercial projects
- Knowledge of relational database analysis and design
- Experience in performance tuning
- Proficiency in T-SQL development in Microsoft SQL Server from versions 2008R2+
- Proficiency in SSIS development

Ideally, you will be educated to at least degree level with an IT related qualification. Experience of any of the following would also be beneficial: SQL Test, PowerShell, Azure or AWS, C++, C#, Data Warehouse design and execution, SSRS and Agile or Scrum development methodologies.

- To be confident communicating with people of all levels, both verbally and through written reports

Experience in programming or statistical languages such as Python and R would be beneficial to your application, as would experience of embedding data into written reports, business cases or other documentation.

Experience or exposure to clinical and medical concepts and language would be advantageous, as would knowledge of IT within the healthcare sector.

The Role
